The People Have Spoken. So There.

I believe that all government is evil, in that all government must necessarily make war upon liberty and the democratic form is as bad as any of the other forms.

H. L. Mencken

It's easy to let others grow our food or build our vehicles. I carpenter for people whose time is better spent working on their own specialty. It makes sense to specialize. If I had to eat only what I could grow or butcher, I'd probably starve. But each of us mostly chooses which specialties to farm out and which to retain, except for the production of security. Our government has a monopoly on that production. Sadly, our government has, with the limitless power of that monopoly, branched out into charity, medicine, retirement income--even building cars and mortgaging homes. Tea-bag all you want, tyranny is here and it ain't going away.

  1. It ain't going away "willingly" anyhoo. Fortunately for us, some old guys in tights thought to add the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights. Not that the Constitution is actually adhered to, that kinda went away with that Civil War thing... It gives one something to go by anyway.

Eventually I think enough people will have had their fill of tyrants and bureaucrats, and we'll get a little reminder of why Independence Day is celebrated with fireworks...

  2. Hi Mayberry,

No Constitution can hold a government in check, and no revolution can save people who have become accustomed to social security, unemployment comp, food stamps, medicare and global war. It's gonna take new frontier or some bright fella (maybe you?) to invent a self-defense tool that can hold off an entire government.

  3. the only self defence tool I can think of is starving the beast, which is limited in it's effectiveness on an individual level. Sorry, no brilliance here. I honestly believe it's gonna take another civil war, and this country will wind up fractured. Because there is no frontier...
